46. Maiden Tower showing perimeter ledges and safety barriers on each floor. This sketch seems to indicate that the floors were added later for tourists.

50, 51. Stairway leading up to one of the slitted windows in the tower. Sunlight enters the narrow-slitted windows, which flare outward to illuminate the interior on its downward passage. The windows may have been designed so that light would fall upon sacred niches on the opposite wall from the window. See niche in Photo 51. The purpose of the niche has yet to be identified.
