Voices Jazz CD
"American Voices has just released
a CD of musical performances from its first-ever Caspian Jazz
and Blues Festival, held this past spring. The 16-track CD, sponsored
by Garadagh Cement, features highlights from all of the festival's
performing groups, both Azeri and international. Selections include
mughaminspired jazz like Mike Del Ferro's interpretation
of Tofig Guliyev's "Sana da Qalmaz" (You're Beauty
Won't Last Forever), two memorable performances of "Sari
Galin" (Yellow Bride) by Vagif Sadikhov and Rain Sultanov.
Other performers include CoCo York and the Baribakh Choir, the
United States Air Force Big Band, Amina Figarova, and others.
