 Ibsen's
      Plays in Azeri

For the first time, Azerbaijanis have the opportunity to read
four of Ibsen's plays in Azeri Latin: "Hedda Gabler",
"A Doll's House", "The Wild Duck" and "Ghosts".
These plays appear in a new book called "Sechma Dramlari"
(Selected Drama Works), financed by the Norwegian Ibsen Committee
and published in Baku by the "Science and Life" Publication
House. The four Ibsen plays were translated from Russian to Azeri
by Azad Aliyev. 362 pages. Azerbaijan currently has a great need
for international classics to be translated and published in
Azeri Latin. This volume from Norway is among the first such
efforts to be undertaken. For a list of other works that the
Azerbaijan's Writers' Union is eager to make available in Azeri
Latin, search for "Classics" at AZER.com. The Ibsen
plays are available from the Norwegian Embassy, emb.baku@mfa.no.
