As of September 2001, Marco Borsotti has replaced Erjan
Murat as UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative
in Baku. Borsotti, who is Italian, has worked for the UN since
1982, serving in countries such as Mozambique, Zambia, Somalia,
Zimbabwe, Cuba and Brazil. Beginning in August 1996, he served
as the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative
in Tbilisi, Georgia. Borsotti holds a master's degree in political
sciences; he speaks Italian, English, Spanish and Portuguese
