One of the leaders of the Bolshevik Party in Azerbaijan, Nariman Narimanov is shown at Lenin's place. The actual event took place in 1924 prior to Lenin's stroke and subsequent death. This linoleum print is by Azerbaijani artist Alakbar Rezaguliyev (1903-1974). Note the famous satiric magazine on the table - a copy of "Molla Nasraddin," a publication which was famous for attacking social issues such as ignorance, lack of education, backward ideas about women. Narimanov is reading the "Kommunist" newspaper. (Linoleum print, 72 x 46 cm, 1969). Photo: Anne VIsser, Holland.
