Birthplace to a New Trend in Soviet Art

"Morning Train" by Tahir Salahov. Clearly oil is shown as the driving force of the new industrialized society with all its impersonality and severity. Oil is being transported on the bridge above the overpass where trucks and mundane passenger cars travel. Tahir is known for adding a touch of red in many of his works, which he says, introduces tension and uneasiness. (Oil on canvas, 165 x 368 cm., Azerbaijan National Art Museum, 1957).
