The Grand Hall of the Ataturk Center which opened in October 2004. Note the elaborate use of flowers and leaves. Also significant is the stucco model of a young girl's head crowned with a garland of flowers. Strict adherence of Islam prohibits the representation of the human figure in art form. But the majority of the Oil Baron Buildings do include human representations either in paintings or in stone carvings. Photo: Betty Blair.
