Nizami Book

"Gunesh Diyari" (Land of Sun) has just been released in Azeri Latin by Ayna Publishing House. This 91-page hardcover book, sponsored by Unocal and Statoil, features prose versions of works by Nizami, a renowned 12th-century Azerbaijani poet who was born in Ganja. Telli Aliyeva compiled the volume and converted it to prose; Sofiya Abdurrahmanova served as editor.

Nizami's well-known "Khamsa" is a collection of five poems: "Sirlar Xazinasi" (The Treasure of Secrets), Khosrov & Shirin, Leyli & Majnun, Yeddi Gozal" (Seven Beauties) and "Isgandarname" (The Book of Alexander the Great). The poems were originally written in Persian, the literary language of the time. Available at AZER.com. Click on Store.
