Carpet Symposium

An international symposium on the theme of "Azerbaijani Carpet and National Applied Art" will be held May 19-21, 2003 in Baku. The symposium is being organized by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture, Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences and the State Museum of Azerbaijani Carpet and National Applied Art. It is the first such symposium to be held in Baku since Azerbaijan became independent. Several researchers of Azerbaijani carpets are scheduled to present papers at the symposium, including lecturers from the United States, the UK, Turkey, Italy, Germany and France.
