ChevronTexaco
On October 9, 2001, Chevron and Texaco
mer- ged to form ChevronTexaco Corp. John A. Connor has
been appointed ChevronTexaco Country Manager in Azerbaijan. Connor
has served as Chevron's Country Manager in Azerbaijan since 1999
and has worked for the company since 1970.
ChevronTexaco is involved in many spheres of the oil industry
in Azerbaijan: exploration of the Absheron offshore block, where
the company is operator; transportation of crude oil from the
Tengiz field in Kazakhstan through Azerbaijan to the Black Sea;
and marketing of high-quality lubricants. The company also contributes
to community development and humanitarian projects.
ChevronTexaco enters the global marketplace as the second-largest
U.S.-based energy company and the fifth largest in the world
based on market capitalization. The new company ranks third in
the world in oil reserves and fourth in oil and natural gas production.

world, producing oil and natural gas and selling fuels and other
