Garmon CD

Rahman Asadollahi, one of the world's best garmon players, has put out a new CD called "Ana: Traditional Music of Azerbaijan".

The garmon, an instrument reminiscent of the accordion and used in Azerbaijani traditional music, is known for its plaintive, emotional sounds. On the CD, Rahman is featured with the Azerbaijan Folklore Music Orchestra, conducted by Nariman Azimov, and Rahman's brother, drummer Vahid Asadollahi.
Recently, Rahman was a featured master artist at the San Francisco World Music Festival; he has also performed in England, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Turkmenistan.
